CAP

About the program

The Career Aviator Pathway Program provides an accelerated flight training experience for students looking to become professional pilots. Through a series of full-immersion flight training courses, we take students from zero flight experience to becoming fully certified multi-engine flight instructors. Our managed program provides over 250 hours of flight time in only six months!

After completing our CAP Program, students can interview at Melbourne Flight Training as flight instructors, building up their flight time and reinforcing their professional pilot training. Students can then utilize our industry knowledge and leverage our connections to get hired and become airline pilots.

We at Melbourne Flight Training maintain that our CAP Program is entirely transparent, holds no hidden fees, and is dedicated to seeing our students succeed.

The full cost for a single student is $93,130.77, though a cash discount is available.

To complete the program, the average student typically requires additional hours above the FAA minimum. These hours are billed at the posted hourly rate. In addition, supplementary costs, such as repeat lessons and Designated Pilot Examiner re-testing, are not included in the total price.

All training is performed one-on-one with your FAA authorized instructor in our fleet of Garmin Equipped Tecnam P2006T trainer aircraft.

Ground Knowledge Assistance

Melbourne Flight Training’s ground instructors are always ready and able to answer questions and explain concepts, rules, regulations, and systems. Flying is a complicated process, and we want our CAP Program flight school students to ace their knowledge tests and take flight in their careers as commercial pilots.

We offer both single pilot and dual pilot time building. Time building can be flown 7 days a week on the customer’s schedule.
Flight Simulator Usage

We provide our CAP Program students unlimited use of our FAA-certified Flight Simulator for instrument and procedures training. Practice makes perfect, and learning critical procedures and tricky maneuvers through the simulator will help our students succeed in the air.

Face-to-Face Interaction

Our goal is to guide our students on their chosen career path, not just get them in the air. We stress that we are always there to assist and are dedicated to ensuring every student receives the attentive instruction they require. Our flight instructors teach through face-to-face interaction and provide any resources needed to succeed.

For accelerated programs the checkride is prepaid and booked in advance with a non-refundable prepayment required in the training contract.
Maximum Efficiency

Our CAP Program is the most time and cost-efficient FAA Part 141-certified flight training program available in the United States, featuring the highest amount of flight time at the most affordable cost. Our program takes a candidate with no previous flight experience and in just six months, has them instructing their own students.

The FAA Commercial Pilot (CPL) course is a 25-flight hour course to make you a fully certified FAA Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot

Our CAP Program flight school begins with a private pilot course. Prospective pilots looking to take to the skies are given foundational knowledge and skills by our instructors, resulting in obtaining their private pilot’s certificate. Students are then led on a flight instrument course, building on the skills learned from their PPL and learning how to fly safely in inclement weather or low-light conditions. From there, our CAP Program students are then led through a commercial single-engine course, granting them the certifications needed to turn their passion into a professional pilot career.

From here, is where our CAP Program takes off. Students are assisted in receiving their CFI-A and CFI-I flight instructor licenses, granting them the skills and experience to teach what they have learned to others. Students are then guided through a commercial multi-engine course, blazing the trail for future opportunities with airliners. Finally, they are assisted in obtaining their MEI certificate, a culmination of all the skills and knowledge they have learned throughout the program.

At this point in our CAP Program student’s journey, they would have all the licenses and skills but still lack the required flight time necessary to become an airline pilot. From here, our CAP Program truly showcases its worth. Melbourne Flight Training hires those within our program to teach others as flight instructors, helping our students gain the flight experience they need while guiding new students along the same journey. The additional 1,260 hours of flight instruction reinforces the knowledge they have obtained and sets in motion a continuous cycle of pilot candidates, all aiming for new, successful horizons.

Part 61 flight training is for pilot candidates looking to maximize their training flexibility and schedule.
